Central Valley and Blackhawk tied for the WPIAL Section 2-4A championship this season.

The two squads dominated the all-section team, too. Blackhawk’s Mady Aulbach and Mackenzie Amalia joined Central Valley’s Christiane Frye and Kaelyn Underwood on the first squad.

The Lady Cougars and Lady Warriors shared the section title at 11-1 as they split their two head-to-head matchups. The teams met for a third time in the WPIAL semifinals and Central Valley won that, 55-48, to reach its first WPIAL title game in program history. The Lady Warriors fell to North Catholic, 75-57, in the title tilt. They rebounded to reach the PIAA second round, but dropped a 59-29 decision to Lancaster Catholic and finished 23-3.

Blackhawk reached the PIAA second round as well, but dropped a 47-41 decision to North Catholic and finished 20-6.

No New Castle players were named first team. The Lady ’Canes finished 2-10 in the section and 9-13 overall.
