In a tight WPIAL Section 1-1A race, Vincentian emerged as the champion.

The Royals paced the all-section squad, too, as Angelo Reeves and Alex Griggs were named to the first team. Nazareth Prep’s Will Taylor, Western Beaver’s Noah Gray and Cornell’s Kaden DiVito and Zaier Harrison joined them.

Vincentian (12-2) edged Nazareth Prep (11-3), Cornell (11-3) and Union (10-4) for the section title. However, Nazareth Prep topped the Royals, 69-62, for the WPIAL championship. Vincentian rebounded to reach the PIAA title game, but dropped an 83-61 decision to Sankofa Freedom Academy.

No Union players were named to the first team. The Scotties beat Clairton, 76-69, to open the WPIAL tournament, but fell to Nazareth Prep, 49-38, in the quarterfinals. They earned a PIAA tournament berth, but fell to Shade, 67-46, to finish 17-8 overall.
