Shooting woes proved costly for the Neshannock High boys basketball team Monday.

The Lancers were just 13 of 38 from the field, including just 1 of 13 from behind the arc, in dropping a 47-32 nonsection to host West Middlesex.

Neshannock had its struggles at the foul line as well, going 5 of 14 from the stripe.

Jake McCormick led the Lancers (1-2) with eight points and Niko Rylott was next with seven. McCormick pulled down a team-high eight rebounds as well.

Marshall Murray paced all scorers with 11 points for the Big Reds (1-2).

The Lancers return to action at 7:30 p.m. Friday when they travel to Shenango for a Section 3-2A matchup at 7:30 p.m.
