The Union Lady Scots got in the win column with a 64-9 Section 1-1A road win over Cornell on Monday.
Union (1-4, 1-10) raced to a 21-5 lead after the first quarter and 38-7 at the half.
“It was great to see the girls get a win,” Lady Scots coach Brian Heaney said. “We’ve been very competitive most of the season; it was good to see the kids get a win and see that their practicing is paying off.
“To see the smiles on their faces on a bus ride home was nice. Hopefully we can turn this into something positive the rest of the way.”
LaDaisja Fitzpatrick netted a game-high 20 points for Union and Madison Wynn followed with 11. Nina Casalandra contributed nine markers.
DeAira Jackson recorded five points for Cornell (0-4, 0-11).
Aliquippa 49, Shenango 27
The injury- and illness-plagued Lady Wildcats competed with just seven players in the Section 1-2A loss to visiting Aliquippa.
Addie George dropped in 16 points to lead Shenango (1-4, 4-9).
Amaya Walker paced the Lady Quips (2-3, 2-11) with 16 points.
Neshannock 61, Avonworth 42
The visiting Lady Lancers handed the Lady Antelopes their first league loss in the Section 1-3A game.
Neshannock is now 4-1, 9-2. Avonworth is 4-1, 6-4. The Lady Lancers are tied with the Lady Antelopes and Beaver for the section lead.
Bella Burrelli led Neshannock with 24 points, while Kaylee George added 11 and Neleh Nogay 10. The Lady Lancers were up 18-10 after one quarter and 36-19 at the half.
Beaver 64, Mohawk 30
The Lady Warriors fell behind 16-1 after one quarter and couldn’t recover in dropping a Section 3-3A road decision to the Lady Bobcats.
Mohawk (3-2, 4-7) came back in the second quarter, getting within 30-21 at the half. But the Lady Warriors were outscored 20-3 in the third period.
Paige Julian led Mohawk with nine points, while Nadia Lape and Abby Shoaff added seven apiece.
Payton List notched a game-best 25 points for Beaver (4-1, 8-2).
Ellwood City 53, Beaver Falls 48
The Lady Wolverines held on for a Section 1-3A home win over the Lady Tigers.
Ellwood City Lincoln (2-3, 6-4) led 27-23 at the half and 41-29 going to the final frame.
Isabella Roth recorded 15 points for the Lady Wolverines and Chloe Sturgeon contributed 11. Kyle Servick tossed in 10 tallies.
Josiland Dennison posted 17 points for Beaver Falls (2-3, 4-8).
Reynolds 51, Wilmington 30
The Lady Greyhounds struggled in the first and third quarters in dropping a District 10, Region 4-2A home matchup to the Lady Raiders.
Wilmington (0-1, 4-6) trailed 16-8 after the first quarter and 23-15 at the break. The Lady Greyhounds were outscored 13-2 in the third period and trailed 36-17 going to the fourth period.
Sydney Ward scored 11 points to lead Wilmington.
Halle Murcko recorded a game-high 18 points for Reynolds (1-0, 6-4).
