Editor, The News:

I like the post office, I like the people who work there and I like their service and I love getting a letter, especially one that is hand written.

You can read it now, put it away for 10 years and pull it out and read it again. Or just look at it and think, someone took the time to do this and get it to me.

The only thing is, I think the postal service has a death wish. Why raise the price of stamps 10 times in 10 years and not cut expenses? Why get rid of 200,000 mailboxes and make it harder and harder to mail a letter?

And why have a pay scale that is based on service and not the cost of living so a worker in New York where living is high gets the same pay as the postmaster in the smallest town?

You can Twitter, e-mail, blog or whatever you want, but who else will bring a package to your door in any kind of weather for forty-some cents but the post office? And remember, they used to do this twice a day.

In fact, I am going to mail this to The News right now. I am sure they will have it tomorrow.
