This past week I was disappointed to see the Wilmington Area School Board increase the salary of one member of the school administration by $30,000 and guaranteeing him $3,500 per year raised for following years.

The person may be well worth the salary, but can a relatively low-income school district with shrinking enrollment really afford this?

How many $100,000 plus employees can the school district pay?

What does this say to the other hard working employees and teachers about their value to the school district?

This past year has been hard on all school employees and families, was this a prudent use of the taxpayers money?

Keep these questions in mind when voting for school board members in May.
