It takes a group

to create Oneness

Editor, The News:

On behalf of the “Oneness” Committee, I wish to thank Dan Irwin and the New Castle News for the outstanding March 5, 2019, article about the “Oneness” Event to be held March 31 at the Scottish Rite Cathedral. The theme of this year’s inaugural event “Uniting Community One Neighbor at a Rime” carries a mission statement: “ to promote harmony, unity, kindness and peace in Lawrence County and beyond.”

This event, open and free to Lawrence County residents, celebrates our “Oneness” with a day filled with family friendly themed arts and crafts events, refreshments, entertainment by the New Castle and Union Area school district choirs and the Community Choir, and guest speaker Rhonda Carso-Leach.

None of this could have been possible without the collaboration by the outstanding people and organizations who have given of their time and support since last November: Sally Dexter logo designer, Mayor Anthony Mastrangelo, Police Chief Robert Salem, County commissioner Robert DelSignore, Joshua Lamancusa, Ralph Blundo, Shannon Geary, Debi DeBlasio, Mike Ross, Pastor Chuck Jewell, Rev. David Young,Westminster College, Donna Abu-Ela, Lalita Prabhu, Octavia Payne, Bobbi Bailey, The Hoyt Center for the Arts, Moraine Trails Boy Scouts, Angelo Perrotta, New Visions, Visit Lawrence County, Children’s Advocacy Center, Angelica Costello, Marianne Gavril, Sam Bernstine, United Way, Barb Harper, Yvonne Clark, Sid Shenkan, Dale Perelman, Lisa Lombardo, Jim McKim, Maria McKee and Michelle Swogger.
