Fireworks a fitting Memorial Day tribute

Editor, The News:

For the past few days, someone on the North Hill has been observing Memorial Day in a unique manner. They have been shooting off fireworks.

Yes, that is unique for a solemn holiday.

The fireworks were relatively quiet, approximately one hour in length. At the end there was a long pause, then three single detonations widely spaced, as if in salute to the fallen servicemen.

I say thank you for a well-thought-out tribute in a different manner.
