Three people were arrested Monday night after a fight broke out inside a North Hill house.
Those involved told police one of the people arrested broke out a front door window with a shovel and pointed a shotgun at the occupants.
New Castle police have charged Destiny Mae Youngworth, 19, her father Michael Joseph Youngworth, 42, and Tyler Daniel Huffman, 30, all of 314 Florence Ave., in connection with the incident that occurred around 11 p.m. in the 100 block of Hillcrest Avenue.
Police said when they arrived they heard yelling and screaming and found the front door window broken and Michael Youngworth sitting on the couch with blood all over his face and hands.
The homeowner also identified Destiny Youngworth and Huffman as having been involved in trying to enter the house, police said.
The resident told police that Michael Youngworth had broken the door and he and two other occupants in the house were hitting Youngworth.
One of the residents told police that after the window was broken, a .22-caliber rifle was pointed inside at his father and he grabbed the barrel and pushed it away. One of the occupants had cuts to his face and nose from the broken glass and from fighting with Youngworth, police said.
The resident told police that the three intruders threw the gun in the yard. Police said they found the gun with a scope behind a garage.
The Youngworths both told police that Destiny had been with one of the residents of the house and that he had stolen $50 from her purse.
They said they went back to the house to get the money from him, police said.
Michael Youngworth said they went to the door and went inside and two men in the house were beating him up, according to police.
Destiny Youngworth told police her father went inside the house and she heard him screaming for help and Huffman grabbed a shovel and broke the window. She said she heard someone inside say they would kill her father.
Huffman told police that Michael Youngworth went into the house and he heard him yelling and that Destiny used the shovel to break the window.
Police searched Destiny at the police station and found two white straws with suspected drug residue on them inside of her purse. She told police that they had been used to snort Xanax, police reported.
She is charged with conspiracy to commit burglary, attempted burglary, criminal trespass, attempt at criminal trespass, simple assault, use or possession of drug paraphernalia, harassment and criminal mischief.
Huffman is charged with conspiracy to commit burglary, conspiracy to commit criminal trespass, simple assault, harassment, criminal mischief, criminal attempt to commit burglary and criminal attempt at criminal trespass.
Police said Michael Youngworth was taken to Jameson Hospital after the incident, complaining of severe pain.
He is charged with burglary, conspiracy to commit burglary, criminal trespass, conspiracy to commit criminal trespass, harassment and criminal mischief.
All three were arraigned yesterday morning by District Judge Melissa A. Amodie, who set their jail bonds at $25,000 each.
