New Castle police have responded to a homicide at 103 N. Lee St. According to police chief Bobby Salem, a homicide involving a male took place at 8:30 a.m.

Police have responded to a homicide at 103 N. Lee St. this morning.

According to New Castle Police Department chief Bobby Salem, the homicide of a male took place around 8:30 a.m. at the residence. There are still people in the home at this time.

Police from New Castle and Shenango Township are at the residence, as are the coroner and Joshua Lamancusa, the county's district attorney. Shenango Township's K-9 unit is investigating the grounds of the property. Noga Ambulance is on scene.

One man who is not the victim was seen being taken from the home in a wheelchair and was placed in an ambulance. His condition is unknown.

Union Area School District is on lockdown due to the "situation downtown."
