Lawrence County residents who are without well water service can obtain water from local fire departments.

Several departments are equipped with water buffaloes — plastic tanks filled with water that can be dispensed for toilet flushing only, emphasized Neshannock Township Fire Chief John DiCola Jr.

The county also has provided bottled water for people to drink, he said.

Following is a list of locations where people in each municipality are assigned to go if they need water:

•Bessemer, Enon Valley, New Beaver and SNPJ boroughs and Little Beaver and North Beaver townships — North Beaver Township Fire Department

•Ellport, Ellwood City and Wampum boroughs and Perry and Wayne townships — Wayne Township fire hall

•Hickory Township — Neshannock or Shenango fire hall

•Mahoning Township — Mahoning Township fire hall

•Neshannock Township — Neshannock Township fire hall

•New Wilmington and Volant boroughs and Plain Grove, Scott and Washington townships —Volant fire hall

•Pulaski Township — Pulaski Township fire hall

•South New Castle Borough, Shenango, Taylor, Slippery Rock and Union townships — Shenango Township fire hall

•Wilmington Township — Volant fire station.
