Ellwood City police are investigating the work of graffiti vandals who seem to be intent on turning the borough orange and gray.

At least 43 victims have been identified so far.

Officers said between 9 p.m. Dec. 26 and 8 a.m. Dec. 27 individuals armed with orange and gray spray paint wrote messages in the 100, 200, 300, 400 and 500 blocks of Orchard Avenue, on Hazel Avenue, the 600 block of Bridge Street and the 100, 200, 300, 400 and 500 blocks of Line Avenue.

Police said numerous alley garages, trailers, sheds, vehicles and buildings were spray painted with messages including “NSEC,” “ECNS,” and “NS.”

All the blocks listed are on the borough’s north side and police said they believe the “NS” in the graffiti stands for North Side.

Anyone with information is asked to contact Ellwood City police.
