Three open positions were filled last night as the Shenango Area School Board voted to approve the recommended candidates.
“I’m very excited to be back in my home school and to be back in town” said Paula Szklinski, the candidate the board recommended for special services secretary.
Szklinski stood in front of the board to explain her background in psychology and marketing along with the other candidates who also gave short speeches.
“I’m super excited to start programs here and get kids into the community,” said Jeffrey Allay, the candidate for life skills teacher. “My ultimate goal is to have a store in the school that kids can come into.”
Allay worked at Lakeview School District in Mercer County for nine years in multiple roles but most recently as its life skills teacher.
“The community’s wonderful, but it doesn’t have the opportunities that Shenango has,” Allay said.
Christy Santangelo was also confirmed as the business office secretary.
