The Shenango Area School Board has a new policy for visitors. The board adopted revisions to its rules for the public to comment at its meeting. The vote at Mondaiy’s meeting was 8-0, with Joseph Gaus absent. According to Dr. Daniel Bell, superintendent, visitors now must sign a sheet at each of the board’s public meetings if they intend to address the board, or they may contact Bell to be considered. Each person’s remarks will be limited to five minutes and up to 10 people per meeting will be allowed to speak. Bell explained the reason for the change in policy is to avoid lengthy meetings where a subject matter is covered repetitiously, but it still gives the public opportunity for input.
