The aroma of fresh-cooked Italian sausage and shouts from bocce tournaments emanated throughout the weekend at Cascade Park.
People of all ages gathered at the park to celebrate New Castle’s annual Italian Festival.
The event offered endless varieties of food, from traditional fair options to Italian sausage, pepperoni rolls and homemade Italian pastries. There also was live music, featuring bands from The Rat Pack to D Major, playing Italian tunes.
The festival resumed last year after a brief hiatus and already has grown, according to organizer Brian Heichel.
