A man injured in a one-vehicle accident on Mercer Road in Neshannock Township remains hospitalized.

Jack Goldblatt, 55, of 4106 Mitchell Road, is in Pittsburgh’s Presbyterian Hospital, where he was flown from Jameson Hospital. He underwent surgery there yesterday afternoon, but his condition was unavailable this morning.

His passenger, 48-year-old Denise Goldblatt, was treated at Jameson Hospital and released.

According to Neshannock Township police, Goldblatt was driving south on Mercer Road around 1 p.m. Friday when he started choking and lost control of his sport utility vehicle. It crossed the northbound lane and struck a tree head-on, police said.

When officers arrived, both people were still inside the vehicle and Jack Goldblatt was unresponsive and appeared to have severe injuries, they said.

The vehicle had severe damage and was towed, according to officials.

The Neshannock Township Fire Department assisted.
