Woman hit by paving truck

A Croton area woman is in stable condition in Horizon Hospital, Farrell, after a paving truck hit her Monday.

New Castle police said Brandi Cepro, 23, of 316 N. Vine St., was standing by her parked car around 3:30 p.m. when a truck owned by Fulena Paving Co. backed into her, pinning her between the two vehicles in the 1700 block of Chartes Street.

Police said Cepro was getting something out of her trunk when the Peterbilt truck, driven by 48-year-old William McDevitt of 1803 Hanna St., backed up.

Cepro sustained moderate injuries and was taken by ambulance to the hospital, police said.

McDevitt was cited. Police said he was not injured.
