Wilmington high school senior Mark Minich was named Wednesday night as the recipient of the $5,000 Jack Butz Scholarship.

Past recipients are:

*2002 -- Thomas Swogger, Laurel, a pharmacy major at the University of Pittsburgh. His goal is to enter the doctoral program, leading to a field of research. He has had internships in Pittsburgh hospitals and community blood testing.

*2003 -- Stephanie Boy, Ellwood City, in a six-year doctoral program in physical therapy at Slippery Rock University. Internships at Apple Rehabilitation --amp; Burk Physical Therapy.

*2003 -- Jordan Taylor, Shenango, majoring in graphic and animation/digital media at Pittsburgh Art Institute. Will graduate in 2007 and is the digital media representative on student council

*2004 -- Jamie Shirk, Laurel, medical assistant, graduated October 2005 from the Bradford School.

*2004 -- Lewis Laughlin, Mohawk, graduated from the New Castle School of Trades in December 2005. Is self-employed as an electrician.

*2005 -- Jeremy Gebhart, Mohawk, dean's list student in the physical therapy program at Slippery Rock University, active in basketball and intramural sports.

*2005 -- Arielle Brice, New Castle, will attend Jameson School of Nursing in the fall.
