Ellwood City is asking local organizations and residents to adopt Jozek.

The “Adopt Jozek for a Month” program is intended to aid the borough in financially supporting Jozek, the Ellwood City Police Department drug dog.

Mayor Anthony Court is asking organizations, clubs, businesses and residents to adopt Jozek for a month by providing funds for the dog’s upkeep. The cost of keeping the dog for a month is $300.

The Ellwood City Wolves Club is the first organization to do so, submitting a check for $300 at its annual Appreciation Steak Fry last week.

Those interested on adopting Jozek can contact the mayor’s office at (724) 824-7629.
