An electrical problem resulted in a garage fire yesterday afternoon in Wayne Township.

Wes Cunningham, chief of the Wayne Township Volunteer Fire Department, said he and his crew had the blaze under control well before his four mutual aid fire companies showed up.

“There was not much fire and hardly any damage,” he said.

Firefighters were called to the 4800 block of Ellwood Road just before 3:30 p.m. They left by about 4:20 p.m.

Cunningham explained that for any structure fire, mutual aid companies of Perry Township, Ellwood City, Chewton and Franklin Township in Beaver County, respond when Wayne Township is called.
