The Neighborhood Pantry, a food ministry operated by the Church of Genesis, 303 N. Cedar St., will celebrate its 10th anniversary from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. June 15 at the church.
There will be free hot dogs, popcorn and drinks, face painting for children, information booths from area agencies and representatives from the community. There will be a bake sale and indoor yard sale. Cookbooks with recipes from the pantry cooking class will be available to purchase for $5. Anyone wishing to donate food for the pantry is encouraged to bring it to the celebration. All contributions will be appreciated.
The Neighborhood Pantry operates solely on donations of food and money and receives no government funding. Clients in the program need only to verify identity and address in order to participate.
The food pantry in open from 5:30 to 7 p.m. every Tuesday. Classes are held at 5 and 7 p.m. and clients may earn extra credits to spend at the pantry. For more information, contact the Church of Genesis at (724) 654-0889.
