Helen Colucci, 91, of Avalon Nursing Center, formerly of Hamilton Street, died the morning of Dec. 17, 2007, in the nursing center.
Born July 23, 1916, in New Castle, she was a daughter of the late John and Aniela Wisocki Bielak.
She was married to Alfonso Colucci for 38 years. He preceded her in death.
Mrs. Colucci was inspector at the former Shenango China for more than 20 years. She was also a loving homemaker to her family.
She enjoyed playing cards, cooking, gardening and playing the lotto.
Mrs. Colucci was a member of St. Vincent de Paul Church and the former SS. Philip and James Church and its Sodality group.
Survivors include a daughter and son-in-law, Helena D. and Carl C. Rashid of New Castle; seven grandchildren, Vincent J. Colucci, Beth A. Danielson and David A. Rashid, all of New Castle, Dr. Marc S. Rashid of Poland, Ohio, Lisa A. Rashid of Pittsburgh, Tanya Colucci of Washington, D.C., and Christina Colucci of Fort Lauderdale, Fla.; and three great-grandchildren.
In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by her son, Vince Colucci; and a sister, Mary Mikolz.
Private visitation for family will be held tomorrow at the Noga Funeral Home, 1142 S. Mill St. A procession will leave the church at 10 a.m. tomorrow for St. Vincent de Paul Church, where a Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated at 10:30 a.m. The Rev. Kenneth Keene of St. Vincent de Paul Church will officiate. Burial will be in SS. Philip and James Cemetery.
