2014 Laurel Homecoming

Shelby Dean was crowned 2014 Homecoming queen at Laurel.

Shelby is a daughter of Bill and Faith Dean. She is senior class president, National Honor Society vice president, student council vice president, FFA president and vice president of the Pennsylvania Junior Angus Association. She is running for FFA state office. She also is a member of the National Junior Angus Association, the Pennsylvania Junior Hereford Association and the National Junior Hereford Association.

Other school activities include varsity track, Conservation Club, PE Club and Peer Leadership.

Shelby has achieved honor and high honor roll awards, as well as the President’s Academic Excellence Award. She has volunteered with Relay for Life and participates as youth leader and Sunday school teacher at her church.

She plans to study pre-veterinary and animal sciences in college, then pursue an advanced degree as a large animal veterinarian.
