“Doing Business with PennDOT” is the name of a training seminar being offered June 26 in Meadville.
The session will run from 9 a.m. to noon at the William J. Douglas Conference Center, 764 Bessemer St.
Co-sponsors are the Northwest Commission Procurement Technical Assistance Center, the Economic Progress Alliance of Crawford County and the Gannon Small Business Development Center.
Kyron Robinson, director of the Disadvantaged Business Enterprises Supportive Services Center, Cheyney University of Pennsylvania, will be the main speaker.
Robinson will provide an overview of the Pennsylvania Unified Certification Program and Disadvantaged Business Enterprises certification. He also will cover the requirements to participate on Pennsylvania Department of Transportation highway projects.
Other topics will include the services provided by the Disadvantaged Business Enterprises Supportive Services Center and the Pennsylvania Disadvantaged Business Enterprises University Training Reimbursement Program.
Cris Pierce, Northwest Commission Procurement Technical Assistance Center Manager, and Kristin Arendash, government contracting specialist, also will be on hand to speak with those attending. They will offer insight on ways the commission can help with government contracting efforts.
