Virginia Fanno, 80, of 1602 Morris St. died the morning of April 28, 2009, in Ellwood City Hospital.

Born May 5, 1928, in Ellwood City, she was a daughter of the late Gaetano and Philomena Frisk Innocent.

She married Carl W. Fanno on Dec. 12, 1942. He died Jan. 15, 2004.

Mrs. Fanno was a former home health aide.

She attended St. John the Baptist Maronite Catholic Church in New Castle.

Survivors include three daughters, Elizabeth Arthur of Pittsburgh, Maureen McKee of South Bend, Ind. and Diane Fanno of New Castle; five sons, Carl A. Fanno and Guy Fanno, both of New Castle, Frank Fanno of Granger, Ind., Joseph Fanno of Ottawa, Ohio, and John Fanno of Pittsburgh; a half brother, Jim Taylor of Pittsburgh; a half sister, Susan Solomon of Pittsburgh; 12 grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren.

Visitation is 10:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. Saturday at the Ed and Don DeCarbo Funeral Home and Crematory, 941 S. Mill St.

A blessing service will be conducted at 12:30 p.m. Saturday at the funeral home. The Rev. Kevin Beaton of St. John the Baptist Maronite Catholic Church will officiate.

Burial will be in Parkside Cemetery.
