Stephen M. Mazzanti Sr., 51, of 844 Rose Stop Road, Shenango Township, passed away July 1, 2009, at Jameson Hospital.

Stephen was born in Ellwood City on Sept. 7, 1957, to Alfred and Rita Nocera Mazzanti.

A 1975 graduate of Riverside High School, Stephen later earned his nursing degree from the Community College of Beaver County.

He worked as a registered nurse for Fresenius Medical Care in Ohio.

Stephen served in the Army National Guard.

He enjoyed shooting pool, hunting and taking yearly road trips with his wife, Colleen. He loved fishing with his son and grandson.

In addition to his parents, he is survived by his wife, the former Colleen Bridge, whom he married March 3, 1979; a daughter and son-in-law, Nicole and Matt Park of Ellwood City; a son, Stephen M. Mazzanti Jr., at home; a grandson, Justin Park; and two brothers, Ray Mazzanti of New Castle and Fred Mazzanti of Ellwood City.

Friends will be received today from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. at the Joseph A. Tomon Jr. Funeral Home and Crematory, 97 Grim Ave., Ellport.

A service will be conducted at the funeral home at 9 p.m. today with Pastor Ron Follett officiating.
