Dr. Sharon Hodge has been named executive director of People in Need. She replaces Dr. Sally Kissick, the organization's founder, who died last year. "I am very pleased that Dr. Hodge has accepted this position," said Jesse Moss, president of the board of directors. "She has served as vice president for student affairs at the University of Akron and also served 11 years as a vice president at Slippery Rock University. "I am confident that her personal, administrative and organizational skills are what we need to move People in Need to a higher level of programs and services." Hodge received her bachelor's degree in social work and her master's in education from the University of Wisconsin-La Crosse. She received her Ph.D. in higher education administration from the University of Northern Colorado at Greeley. "I am thrilled that I have the opportunity to go back to the roots of my education in social work to serve People in Need," Hodge said. "I look forward to expanding the programs and services to meet the needs of the people within and near Lawrence County. "I also look forward to collaborating with other agencies and services and becoming more involved in our community." People in Need is located at 2540 Butler Road.
