Lee Edward Thompson, 36, of 617 E. Hazelcroft Ave. died the morning of Monday, Dec. 29, 2008, in his home.

Born April 13, 1972, in New Castle, he was a son of Larry and Joanne Hilton Thompson. They survive.

Mr. Thompson worked at the Mercer County state prison as a corrections officer.

He graduated from the University of Pittsburgh with a bachelor’s degree.

Mr. Thompson was a motorcycle enthusiast and loved all sports.

In addition to his parents, survivors include a brother and sister-in-law, Dr. Larry Jr. and Dr. Kimberly Thompson; a niece, Emily Thompson; a nephew, Larry Thompson III; and his girlfriend, Bettina Johnson.

He was preceded in death by his maternal and paternal grandparents.

Calling hours are 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Friday at the J. Bradley McGonigle Funeral Home and Crematory, 111 W. Falls St.

A service will be conducted at 11 a.m. Saturday at the funeral home. The Rev. John Yergan of First Baptist Church will officiate.
