John J. Tranquillo, 61, of Martha Street died the afternoon of Tuesday, April 7, 2009, in his home.

He was born May 28, 1947, in New Castle, a son of the late James and Anna Tomco Tranquillo.

He worked at the Sawhill Tube Mill in Sharon, retiring after 32 years.

Mr. Tranquillo enjoyed working on and fixing cars, and other mechanical tinkering.

He was a member of St. Vitus Church.

Survivors include a brother, James S. “Butch” Tranquillo of New Castle; two sisters and a brother-in-law, Cindy and William Eve, and LaDonna Hanna, both of New Castle; one stepson, Jim Wellman of New Castle; two stepgrandchildren; and a number of nieces and nephews.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his companion, Donna Wellman.

Visitation is 10 to 11 a.m. tomorrow at the William F. and Roger M. DeCarbo Funeral Home, 926 Cunningham Ave.

A blessing service will be conducted at 11 am. tomorrow at the William F. DeCarbo Memorial Chapel of the funeral home. The Rev. John Petrarulo of St. Vitus Church will officiate.

Burial will be in Castle View Memorial Gardens.
