Floyd David Stinson, 90, was born in Ellwood City on Jan 22, 1919.

He is survived by his wife, Verna Stinson of Granite Bay, Calif., his daughter and son-in-law, Marjorie and Tim Lupold of St. Louis; son and daughter-in-law, David and Karla Stinson of Granite Bay; and three grandsons, Timothy Lupold, and James and John Stinson.

Floyd was a loving and devoted husband, father and grandfather. He was dedicated to his work. He enjoyed aviation, archery and fishing.

Floyd and Verna moved from St. Louis to Granite Bay on April 15, 2009. He died on April 26, 2009.

Floyd attended Geneva College and Penn State University, where he studied mechanical engineering.

Floyd was a civilian pilot and served in the Army Air Corps during World War II.

In 1945, he began work with Mathews Conveyor Co. in Ellwood City. In 1950 he was transferred to St. Louis and became a field sales engineer. He continued actively and productively working in the career he loved until 2005.

A private memorial service will be held at Mount Vernon Memorial Park in Fair Oaks, Calif.

He will be greatly missed by his family and friends.
