Former New Castle resident Doris M. Earl, 85, of 729 Paddington Place, Deltona, Fla., died March 30, 2009, in Florida Hospital Fish Memorial, Orange City, Fla.

Born May 8, 1923, in New Castle, she was a daughter of the late Charles and Evelyn Lenz Schetrom.

She first married Frank L. Williamson on Nov. 27, 1940. He survives in Ocala, Fla.

She subsequently married Harry W. Earl on May 18, 1976. He died July 19, 1994.

Mrs. Earl was co-owner with her husband, Harry, of Earl’s Frozen Foods and retired in 1982.

She attended Union High School.

Mrs. Earl enjoyed crocheting and music.

She was a member of First Baptist Church, where she sang in the choir, served at dinners, taught Sunday school, loved Bible study and was a member of Good Christian Women.

Survivors include three daughters and sons-in-law, Retta Lee and Glenn Jones of Deltona, Jean Ann and Phillip Poe of Sarasota, Fla., and Patty and Bruce Brown of Pasadena, Calif.; three stepsons, Ronald Earl, Dennis Earl and Timothy Earl; nine grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren.

In addition to her second husband, she was preceded in death by a stepbrother, Wally Shulan; and a grandson, William E Bogdon.

Calling hours are 7 to 9 p.m. tomorrow at the R. Cunningham Funeral Home and Crematory, 2429 Wilmington Road.

A service will be conducted at 11 a.m. Saturday at the funeral home. The Rev. John Yergan will officiate.

Burial will be in Graceland Cemetery.
