Doris Curry Wishart, 88 of New Wilmington, formerly of Mercer Street, Pulaski, died the evening of Sept. 18, 2009, at Horizon Hospital, Farrell.

Mrs. Wishart was born Jan. 28, 1921, in New Castle, a daughter of William A. Curry and Nannie Gertrude Steel Curry.

She married Gerald Hunt Wishart on Oct. 15, 1955. He died May 30, 1999.

She was a member of New Covenant Evangelical Presbyterian Church in New Castle.

She was a 1939 graduate of New Castle High.

She was a member of the AARP, the Snappy Dragons Garden Club of Pulaski and the Ladies Auxiliary of the Pulaski Township Volunteer Fire Department.

She formerly was employed by Second Presbyterian Church in New Castle and the Shenango Pottery.

Doris is survived by two daughters, Irene Johnson of New Wilmington and Kemy McAllister of New Castle; three sisters, Norma Harper of Ellwood City, Lois Marvin of Enon Valley and Vera White of New Castle; eight grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; two brothers, Bob and Bud Curry; and three sisters, Charlotte Leishman, Martha Strohecker and Eleanor Bates.

Visitation will be from 4 to 7 p.m. tomorrow at the Smith Funeral Home, 310 W. Neshannock Ave., New Wilmington.

A funeral service will take place at 11 a.m. Wednesday at the funeral home, with the Rev. George Yates, pastor of New Covenant Evangelical Presbyterian Church in New Castle, officiating. Burial at Fair Oaks Cemetery in New Wilmington.
