Quinn

David Francis Quinn Sr., 66, of Hickory View Drive died the morning of Thursday, March 6, 2008, in Allegheny General Hospital, Pittsburgh.

He was born Aug. 19, 1941, in New Castle, a son of the late Paul and Emillia Haza Quinn.

He married the formerly Beverly A. Blackford on Oct. 12, 1968. She survives.

Mr. Quinn had worked in the forge, and was a furnace tender and inspector at the Rockwell Axle Division in New Castle for more than 20 years.

He was a veteran of the Navy.

Mr. Quinn was an emergency medical technician at Rockwell and for Bessemer Rescue.

He and his wife were professional clowns.

Mr. Quinn was a member of First Assembly of God, was a leader of the Royal Rangers at the church and had a prison ministry for many years.

In addition to his wife, survivors include three sons and daughters-in-law, David F. Jr. and Jane Quinn of Bessemer, and Michael T. and Rae Ann Quinn, and Chad J. and Denise Quinn, all of New Castle; two sisters, Mary Craft of Memphis, Tenn., and Emillia Cline of Groton, Conn.; and eight grandchildren.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two brothers, William Quinn and Paul Quinn; and two infant sisters.

Calling hours are 2 to 4 p.m. tomorrow at First Assembly of God, Pulaski Road.

A service will be conducted at 4 p.m. tomorrow at the church. The Rev. Kenneth Meyer, pastor, will officiate.

Arrangements are by the William F. and Roger M. DeCarbo Funeral Home, 926 Cunningham Ave.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to First Assembly of God, Children’s Ministries, 2021 Pulaski Road, New Castle 16105.
