Bertha S. Gosciewski, 94, of Rhodes Estates, formerly of Ellwood City, died on Tuesday morning, June 9, 2009, at the facility.

She was born in Alden, Pa. on July 10, 1914, a daughter of the late George Victor and Sophie Victor,

She was a member of Holy Redeemer Parish Church in Ellwood City.

Survivors include two daughters, Joan Evans of Ellwood City, and Barbara and James Leise of Slippery Rock; and a son, S. William and Betsy Gosciewski of Sidney, Ohio.

She was preceded in death, by her husband of 51 years, Stanley J. Gosciewski. The last of her family, she was also preceded in death by three brothers, John, Joseph and Paul Victor; and a sister, Mary Slabinski.

Calling hours will be from 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday and from 10 to 11:30 a.m. on Friday at the Turner Funeral Home, Sixth Street at Park Avenue, Ellwood City.

A blessing service will be conducted at 11:30 a.m. Friday at the funeral home.

Memorial contributions may be made in Bertha’s name to the Alzheimer’s Unit at Rhodes Estates, 318 Rhodes Place, New Castle, Pa., 16101, or to Jameson Hospice, 1000 South Mercer St., New Castle, Pa., 16101.
