Wilmington takes personnel actions

NEW CASTLE — The Wilmington school board took some personnel action at this week’s meeting. The board:

•Hired Matt Hess as a long-term substitute teacher at $125 per day, as required by the collective bargaining agreement. He replaces Erica Taylor, high school English teacher, from Jan. 2 to June 4.

•Assigned teacher Chris Cassano and Sally Hiers as mentors to the new eighth-grade science teacher for the 2014 calendar year. Mentor teachers are paid $750 under the collective bargaining agreement and this amount will be split between the two.

•Hired Amanda Sipe and Joan Smith as part-time cafeteria workers at $7.25 per hour. Sipe will work in the elementary school and Smith at the high school.

•Awarded a contract to Tammy Milton as middle school yearbook adviser. She will be paid $1,000 under the collective bargaining agreement.

•Accepted the resignations of Erin O’Brien and Amy Bryson, food service employees at Wilmington Elementary and High School respectively.
