Featured Video: Donkey basketball at Wilmington Area High

NEW CASTLE — Donkey basketball.

Bringing the ball up the court is the easy part.

Getting your donkey to come? Well not, so much.

On Wednesday night, Wilmington Area High hosted its 9th annual Donkey Basketball game.

Believe it or not, the contest actually went into overtime, with the Camo team winning it all with a final score of 6-4.

Fans saw plenty of scoop shots during the action, but those were mainly from the players cleaning up after their animals.

Rickie Cutlip, the man who drives the truck full of donkeys, said that “the only animals getting hurt here are the two-legged ones riding the donkeys.”

And he should know. The donkeys weigh more than 500 pounds each!

Watch the video below to see Wednesday night’s outrageous activities.
