Hearing set on school building’s future

NEW CASTLE — A hearing Wednesday will determine the future of an abandoned school building.

The Pulaski Township supervisors will meet at 7 p.m. at the municipal building to determine whether the former New Bedford school on Schoolhouse Road violates the township dangerous buildings ordinance.

The supervisors would like to know what plans the owners have for the building. The owners are Richard P. and Patricia McMahon of Sharon.

Pulaski Township Supervisor Sam Varano said there have been problems at the former school including vandalism, broken windows and kids hanging around. He said the police have been called there several times.
