NEW CASTLE —
Tanya Renee Brimmer and Christopher Edward Petrus were married at 2:30 p.m. Sept. 1, 2012, at St. Camillus Church. The Rev. Thomas J. Lewandowski officiated.
The bride’s mother is Deborah Ann Brimmer of Carnegie, Pa.
Parents of the groom are Edward and Lorraine Petrus of New Castle.
The bride was escorted by her brother, Tyler Swogger.
The bridal party rode in three 1957 DeSotos owned by the groom’s parents.
The bride wore an ivory, knee-length silk taffeta Blakely dress by J. Crew with a burgundy bird cage veil. She wore her mother-in-law’s wedding blue lace garter.
Her full burgundy rose bouquet contained Stargazer lily accents.
Maid of honor was Sandra Bowen, the bride’s aunt, of Oakdale, Pa.
Serving as best man was Brian Petrus, the groom’s brother, of New Castle.
Vocalist was Edward Petrus, the groom’s father, who was accompanied by Betsy Pecano.
A reception for 25 close family members was held at the Lawrence County Historical Society. The following day, a reception for friends was held at Celebrations and More in Imperial.
A future honeymoon in the Caribbean is planned.
The bride is graduate of West Allegheny High School and Pittsburgh Technical Institute, where she received a degree in graphic design, and LaRoche College where she earned a bachelor of science degree in graphic design.
She is a senior graphic designer.
Her husband graduated from New Castle High School and Pittsburgh Technical Institute with a degree in graphic design. He is a graphic designer.
The newlyweds make their home in Upper St. Clair.
