Shannon Marie Cooper and John Eric Balogh were married at a 2:30 p.m. ceremony Oct. 3, 2009, at Castlewood Christian and Missionary Alliance Church. The Rev. James O’Hara officiated.
Parents of the bride are Garnet and Douglas Cooper Jr. of Gibson Street.
The groom’s parents are Victor and Cynthia Balogh, also of New Castle.
The bride wore a capped sleeve, Alfred Angelo gown with persimmon sash, lace overly and beading.
Her bouquet was an arrangement of fall flowers and monarch butterflies.
Matron of honor was Jennifer Smith of New Castle.
Maid of honor was Elizabth Ayres of New Wilmington.
Bridesmaids were Amy Hupko of Indiana, Pa., and Sarah Balogh, groom’s sister, of New Castle.
Flower girl was Scarlet Balogh, daughter of the bride and groom, of New Castle.
Ring bearer was R. Alexander Ayres of New Wilmington.
Best man was Adam Data of New Castle.
Ushers, all of New Castle, were Bruce Smith, Joshua Cooper, bride’s brother, Adam Major and Michael Craven.
Ceremony vocalist was Jennifer Smith.
The reception took place at The New Englander.
After a honeymoon to Myrtle Beach, S.C., the newlyweds make their home on Douglas Drive.
The bride is a 2003 graduate of Shenango High School and a 2008 graduate of Jameson School of Nursing. She is a registered nurse for Jameson Health System.
Her husband is also a 2003 Shenango alumnus. He works for Epic Realty Solutions.
