Amanda Kristen Leugers and T.J. (Thomas) S. Skowronski Jr.

Amanda Kristen Leugers and T.J. (Thomas) S. Skowronski Jr., were married at a 1:30 p.m. ceremony Sept. 19, 2009, at Holy Spirit Catholic Church, Annadale, Va. Officiating was the Rev. Joe Mamich of Stow, Ohio.

Parents of the bride are Patricia and Jerry Leugers of Fairfax Station, Va.

The groom is a son of Sheryl and Tom Skowronski of 809 Harrison St.

The bride wore a white strapless, A-line gown with chiffon and lace overlay.

She carried a cascading bouquet of fall flowers, orange mums, red and yellow roses, berries and silk leaves.

Matron of honor was Samy Leugers, sister of the bride, of San Francisco.

Bridesmaids were Anna Cury of Fairfax, Va., Kelly McGrath, sister of the groom, of Stow, Shannon Mesko of Wexford, and Elizabeth Upton of Norfolk, Va.

Best man was Ryan McGuire of Overland Park, Kan.

Ushers were Matt Dugan of Meadville, Tim McGrath of Stow, Josh Latore of New Castle, and John Mesko of Wexford.

Readings were given by Richard Rapone, godfather of the groom, Chuck Rowan and Michael Rowen.

Presentation of gifts were by Michael Rapone, Liz Vargo and Christina Pertz.

Eucharistic ministers were Patty Pertz and Mary Scarfo.

Programs and send offs were handled by Isabella Rapone, goddaughter of the groom, and Sophia Rapone.

A reception followed at the Marriott Inn, Fairfax.

On Sept. 20, brunch and Sunday Mass was celebrated at the hotel for all of the out-of-town guests. Parents of the bride and groom were hosts.

After honeymooning at Montego Bay, Jamaica, the newlyweds make their home in Woodbridge, Va.

The bride is a 2001 graduate of Robinson High School, Burke, Va.

She served in the Navy from 2001 to 2003, obtaining the rank of lieutenant.

In 2005, she obtained her degree from Old Dominion University, Norfolk.

She is a Fairfax County police officer.

Her husband is a 1999 New Castle High School graduate. He attended Robert Morris University and Butler Community College, obtaining a criminal justice degree in 2005.

He is a Fairfax County police officer first class.
