NEW CASTLE —
Kelly Lynne Feist and Jack Rosevelt Bumgarner were married at 5 p.m. April 7, 2012, at the Orchard House at the Korakia Pensione in Palm Springs, Calif. by the Rev. Don Toshach.
Parents of the bride are former New Castle residents Mary Jo Russo-Feist and Glenn Feist of Henderon, Nev.
Parents of the groom are Dwain Bumgarner of Anchorage, Alaska, and Judy Casey of Palmer, Alaska.
The intimate ceremony was attended by immediate family only. However, a symbolic wedding party was assembled to attend a wedding celebration for extended family and friends.
The bride carried a Bible containing photos of the groom’s recently deceased stepmother, Nancy Bumgarner. During the ceremony, both mothers placed intertwined wreaths of dogwood flowers on the couple’s heads to pay homage to the bride’s Greek Orthodox heritage and symbolize the unbreakable bond between husband and wife.
The bride wore a fitted ivory lace gown with a V-neck halter top and mermaid silhouette with a chapel length train. Her fingertip length ivory veil was dusted with pearls.
Her bouquet was made by her mother and featured deep orange hydrangeas, rich purple dahlias, bright yellow bottlebrush and trailing ribbons.
A formal reception hosted by the bride’s parents will be held at the Copa Room in Las Vegas on Oct. 7, 2012. The ceremony and reception were scheduled unconventionally to allow the groom’s family to travel to both venues from their homes in Alaska.
Anna Grzebieniak of Niles, Ohio will serve as matron of honor and bridesmaids will be Cathy Jo Krol of Cranberry, Lindsey Clark of Pittsburgh and Marissa Fricke, the bride’s cousin, of Tulsa, Okla.
Best man is Donovan Curry, the groom’s brother, of Seattle.
Groomsmen are Seth Murrell of Wasilla, Alaska, James Murrell of Wasilla and Joshua Donn of Palmer.
The bride is a graduate of Mohawk High School and the University of Nevada Las Vegas. She is a wellness coordinator.
Her husband is a graduate of Palmer High School. He attended the College of Southern Nevada. He is a union faux finish painter.
The couple will honeymoon in Maui immediately following the October reception.
The newlyweds make their home in Henderson.
