Megan Ashley Ridge and Robert Ray Pollum

NEW CASTLE — Megan Ashley Ridge and Robert Ray Pollum were married at 3:30 p.m. April 28, 2012, at Faith Country Chapel. The Rev. Brian Hammond officiated.

Parents of the bride are Steven and Linda Ridge of Houk Road.

Parents of the groom are Chuck and Amy Pollum of Portersville.

The bride wore a Pronovias strapless lace and Paris Garza gown that featured a sweetheart neckline, chapel-length train of ruffles and bodice, which was accentuated with beading and lace that extended to a dropped waist.

Her bouquet contained a clutch bouquet of rhinestone-studded Eskimo white roses, lavender moon carnations and deep purple anemones. She also carried a lace handkerchief handed down from her great-grandmother.

Matron of honor was Shanna McNicholas, the bride’s sister, of New Castle.

Bridesmaids were Hillary Carlo, Tricia Dorr and Deanna McNicholas, all of New Castle, Danielle Churchill of Erie, Whitney Gealy of Houston, Kristyn Mistovich of Boardman, Kate Page of Delaware, Ohio, and Laura Pollum and Lydia Pollum, the groom’s sisters, of Portersville.

Bridal attendants were Jenna Williams and Jerica Williams, the bride’s cousins, of New Wilmington.  

Serving as best man was Aaron Pollum, the groom’s brother, of Portersville.

Groomsmen were Chet Brown, Michael Burkett, Fritz Lang and David McNicholas, the bride’s brother-in-law, all of New Castle, Scott Cukovich of Renfrew, Wayne Henchar of Harmony, John Sklarsky of Cranberry Township, and cousins of the groom, Josh Page, the groom’s cousin, of Delaware, Ohio and Zack Page, the groom’s cousin, of Plain City, Ohio. Ushers were Earl Williams and John Williams.

Assisting in the ceremony was the Rev. Damian Williams, the bride’s cousin.

Pianist was Loren DiGiorgi, who played an original composition, “The Prayer,” during the lighting of the unity candle.

A dinner reception followed at the New Englander Banquet Center.

The couple spent their honeymoon in Punta Cana.

Both the bride and groom are 2005 graduates of Laurel High School.

The bride is a 2009 graduate of Youngstown State University where she earned a bachelor’s degree in social work. She is the director of social services for Edison Manor Nursing and Rehabilitation Center.

Her husband is a 2010 graduate of Clarion University where he received a bachelor’s degree in business management and industrial relations with a minor in sports management. He works for Campbell Transportation Company, Inc. in Houston, Pa. as a logistics coordinator.

The newlyweds make their home in Slippery Rock Township.
