Joanne D. Nene and David L. Dougherty

NEW CASTLE — Joanne D. Nene and David L. Dougherty were married at 2:30 p.m. July 20, 2013, by the Rev. Ron Nagel. The private outdoor ceremony was held at the Cascade Park waterfall.

Parents of the bride are Doris Nene of New Castle and the late Anthony Nene.

Parents of the groom are David and Laura Dougherty of New Castle.

Bridesmaids were Isabella Nene, the bride’s daughter, of New Castle and Corina Dougherty, the groom’s daughter, of New Castle.

Serving as best man was David A. Dougherty, the groom’s son, of New Castle.

An open casual reception will be held from 7 to 11 p.m. Dec. 28 at the Shenango Township Firehall.

A winter honeymoon is planned.

The bride is a graduate of Laurel High School, Grove City College and Duquesne University School of Law. She is a self-employed attorney.

Her husband is a graduate of Lawrence County Career and Technical Center. He is a steamfitter with Local 449.

The newlyweds make their home at 1130 Dougherty Road.
