NEW CASTLE —
Sarah Lorraine Petrus and Christopher Davis Kurowski were married at 2 p.m. Aug. 4, 2012, at St. Camillus Church. The Rev. Thomas J. Lewandowski officiated.
Parents of the bride are Edward and Lorraine Petrus of New Castle.
Parents of the groom are David and Cynthia Kurowski of Gouldsboro, Pa.
The bride’s white diamond fit and flare Maggie Sottero gown with embellished lace featured a fingertip veil trimmed with lace and crystals, and a tiara of white roses and diamond accents. She wore her mother’s wedding blue lace garter.
Her bouquet contained mini white calla lilies and plum dendrobium orchids with rhinestone beading throughout.
The unity candle lit by the couple was same one used by the bride’s parents at their wedding.
Maid of honor was Christina Lucchini of Pittsburgh.
Bridesmaids were Luisa Caparoula of New Castle, Amy Spor of McKees Rocks, Jordan Snyder of Grove City, Amanda Romanowicz of Erie, Lee-Ann Upperman of Houghton, N.Y., Allison Kurowski, the groom’s sister, of Harrisburg and Jodi Evans of Leicestershire, England, formerly of New Castle.
Serving as best man was Michael Kofel of Philadelphia.
Groomsmen were Christopher Petrus, the bride’s brother, of Upper St. Clair, Brian Petrus, the bride’s brother, of New Castle, Gregory Petrosky, the groom’s cousin, of Philadelphia, Mathew Felbinger of Durham, N.C., and Ben Booker of Honey Brook, Pa.
Vocalists were the bride’s parents and the St. Camillus choir under the direction of the bride’s father. Ruth Ann Milifried was organist, and James and Betty Stephenson were violinists.
The reception was held at the Alpine Room of SNPJ.
The couple spent their honeymoon in Antigua.
The bride is a 2004 graduate of New Castle High School. She received her bachelor’s degree in psychology and master’s degree in occupational therapy from the University of Pittsburgh.
She is an occupational therapist specializing in the treatment of patients with brain injuries at Health South Rehabilitation of York, Pa.
Her husband is a graduate of North Pocono High School, and the University of Pittsburgh where he earned both his bachelor’s degree in chemistry and his teaching certificate.
He is a chemistry teacher at West York High School and is pursuing his master’s degree in education.
The newlyweds make their home in York.
