Heather-Jo Haney and Gary Christopher Filippone were married at a 4 p.m. ceremony July 24, 2009, at Punta Cana, Dominican Republic.
Officiating was the Rev. Jean Armand LaCaille.
Parents of the bride are Joe and Debbie Haney of 832 Lakewood Road.
The groom is a son of Gary and Denise Filippone of 410 Sixth St.
The wedding was attended by 30 family members. The ceremony took place in the gazebo at Palm Dreams Resort.
The bride wore a white Maggie Sottero strapless gown. The couturier style dress had crystal and beading on the top and fluted tulle cascading towards the hemline.
She carried long-stem white calla lilies and white roses with white satin ribbon and white pearls.
There were two maids of honor: Heidi Haney, bride’s twin sister, of New Castle and Amanda Winter of New Castle.
Bridesmaids were Christina Parsell of Lewes, Del., Nicole Lombardo of Chippewa, Dani Norris of Kennett Square, Pa., Vanessa Budai of New Castle, Kiley Slowik, sister of the bride, of Cranberry, Suzanne Braunlich, sister of the bride, of Pittsburgh, and Eunice Lewis of New Castle.
Flower girls were Madisyn Haney-Filippone, daughter of the bride and groom, of New Castle and Olivia Winter, goddaughter of the bride, of New Castle.
Junior bridesmaid was Alianna Christian of New Castle.
Best man duties were shared by Andrew Parsell of Lewes, Del., and Matthew West of New Castle.
Ushers were Johnathan Parsell of Lewes, Andrew Lombardo of Chippewa, Matthew Gerello of New Castle, Angelo Fornataro of New Castle, John Domenick of Pittsburgh, James Slowik of Cranberry and Chris Braunlich of Pittsburgh.
Ring bearer was Domenick Filippone, son of the bride and groom, of New Castle.
Junior groomsmen were Carmen Haney of New Castle, Andre Carlisle of New Castle, Riley Braunlich of Pittsburgh and Christian Braunlich of Pittsburgh.
Ceremony music was provided by Dominican Republic singers.
A formal reception was Aug. 7 at The Alpine Room at SNPJ.
The couple are planning a Las Vegas honeymoon in the fall.
They make their home in New Castle.
The bride is a graduate of Laurel High School and Slippery Rock University.
She is attending SRU grad school.
Her husband is a graduate of New Castle High School and Youngstown State University.
He is a poker dealer at Mountaineer Casino.
