Alexis Marie Smith and Christopher Michael Shively
Alexis Marie Smith and Christopher Michael Shively were married at a 5 p.m. ceremony on Sept. 1, 2007, in the Dubarry Room of the Hotel DuPont in Wilmington, Del. Officiating was the Rev. Deborah Kalinowski.
Parents of the bride are Ann and Abram Smith of 211 Rose Hill Drive.
Parents of the groom are Catherine Pyatt and Michael Shively, both of Chambersburg, Pa.
The bride’s Oleg Cassini, white satin A-line gown, featured beaded embroidery, satin belt with brooch detail. The organza skirt ended in a chapel-length train.
She carried a bouquet of white lilies.
Matron of honor was Nikki Dean of New Castle.
Serving as bridesmaid was Jacqui Giordano of Finleyville, Pa.
Best man was Nicholas Shively, groom’s brother, of Chambersburg.
Groomsman was Jepthah Orstein of Pittsburgh.
The ushers were Andrew Smith, bride’s brother, of McDonald, Pa., Brian Blackwell of Pittsburgh, Mark Bauwin of Coraopolis and John Lowenhaupt of Baltimore.
Ceremony music was provided by a violinist and cellist from RSQ music.
The reception followed in the Hotel DuPont’s Green Room.
The newlyweds took their honeymoon in December to Jamaica.
They make their home at 215 S. Union St., Wilmington, Del.
The bride is a graduate of Shenango High School. She received a bachelor of arts degree in economics in 2003 from Washington and Jefferson College. She graduated in June 2007 from Philadelphia College of Osteopathic Medicine.
