NEW CASTLE — A Shenango Township man who became unruly at two Union Township businesses allegedly battled police when they arrested him.

Union Township police said Charles T. Cialella, 22, of 470 Douglas Drive, tried to kick out the window of a cruiser and had to be stunned with a Taser.

Officers said they were called around 4:25 p.m. Thursday regarding Cialella fighting with people and shoving the owner of Parkstown Lounge while trying to get into the bar. He also allegedly had been fighting someone at Walmart.

Police said he became verbally abusive upon their arrival and refused to calm down and struggled with police as they arrested him. They said he kicked the window of the cruiser three times and when they told him to stop, he kicked at one of the officers.

The officer used his Taser on Cialella to subdue him, and with the help of state troopers took him to the police station. During the ride, Cialella was hitting his head off the car window and using vulgar language.

Police took him for evaluation to Jameson Hospital, where he threatened to kill hospital employees, police said.

Cialella is charged with aggravated assault, terroristic threats, disorderly conduct, harassment and public drunkenness.

He was arraigned by District Judge Jennifer L. Nicholson, who set his jail bond at $25,000.
