Police seize mobile meth lab

NEW CASTLE — Police said charges are pending after the discovery of a suspected mobile meth lab over the weekend.

According to Shenango Township police, officers observed a suspicious vehicle in a bar parking lot at 11:30 p.m. Saturday.

Two people inside the vehicle, Christine E. Mesko, 44, of 105 Jackson Way, Ellwood City, and Jerrold J. Miller, 46, of Fombell were taken into custody on warrants out of Beaver County. Police also said Mesko initially provided false identification to them.

The township’s police dog was used to sweep the vehicle and the dog indicated drugs were present. Officers then said methamphetamines were found in the vehicle.

It was seized, taken to the township police station and the meth lab team from the U.S. Drug Enforcement Agency was called to examine the vehicle. Police said the investigators determined equipment used to make methamphetamines was in the vehicle.
