NEW CASTLE —
A man accused of breaking into a truck on the lower East Side was tackled by the owner.
New Castle police reported the owner held the alleged burglar on the ground until officers arrived. The incident occurred around 11:45 p.m. Tuesday in the 200 block of North Crawford Avenue.
Police arrested Edward Colestock, 29, of 812 N. Mercer St., and charged him with theft and public drunkenness.
The owner of the truck told police his daughter had seen Colestock inside the vehicle, rifling through it. She yelled at him and he ran through an alley, the owner said.
They drove around looking for him, found him next to another car, got out and chased him, the man told police. He said Colestock had taken a few dollars in change from his truck.
