NEW CASTLE — New Castle police are continuing their investigation into a shooting that occurred on the city’s South Side over the weekend.

Colin Lewis, 23 of West Reynolds Street, told police he had been shot in the back during a robbery on South Jefferson Street early Saturday.

Police said Lewis suffered a bullet wound to the lower back. The injury was not considered life threatening, officers said.

Lewis was taken to Jameson Hospital, then flown to Presbyterian Hospital in Pittsburgh.

The victim told police he had been walking along South Jefferson Street near Division Street about 3:30 a.m. when he was accosted.
